Luther Lanard PC is a growing boutique litigation law firm in prestigious Newport Beach, California. We represent franchisees worldwide in disputes, transactions, and everything in between. Our litigation team handles complex legal matters in arbitration and in state and federal court.

About You

You’re a skilled litigation paralegal looking for a law firm that understands how to get the job done while respecting healthy boundaries. Do we have billable requirements – sure. But we also want you to have a life outside of work. You'll do the normal paralegal tasks: manage deadlines and filings, prepare discovery, help draft pleadings and demand letters, and help get cases ready for hearings and trial with attention to detail. You'll also attend them! We like to consider our paralegals the heart of our matters – you keep things flowing!

You don't need franchise law experience. We'll train you. What we're looking for is someone who is responsive, detail-oriented, curious about the law, and embraces technology. We are a very tech-forward law firm.

What You'll Do

• Manage litigation calendars, deadlines, and court and arbitration filings

• Review documents and prepare discovery requests and responses

• Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and arbitrations

• Draft and assist with pleadings and demand letters

• Serve as a point of contact for clients and outside vendors

• Maintain accurate case records in firm systems

• Coordinate with Accounting and Firm Operations to support Legal Operations

What You Bring

• At least 2 years of litigation paralegal experience

• Bachelor's degree

• A track record of staying organized and meeting deadlines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• The ability to solve problems independently and take ownership of your work

• Strong technology skills – experience utilizing AI is a plus (Lexis Shepard, RealityCheck, Claude)

Bonus: Experience with arbitration or with state or federal court practice
