We are a boutique medical malpractice and birth injury law firm, seeking a Litigation Paralegal in the Austin area to support the legal team in pursuing justice for injured patients and their families from case initiation through resolution. The ideal candidate possesses a strong working knowledge of and experience with Texas civil litigation, including drafting legal documents, monitoring case deadlines, and working with clients and expert witnesses. Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is preferred but not required. This position will primarily support our Austin legal team.

• Draft pleadings, motions, disclosures, discovery responses/requests, notices, pre-trial documents, and correspondence.

• Analyze and calendar deadlines and settings.

• Coordinate scheduling of depositions, hearings, phone calls, meetings, etc.

• Liaise with expert witnesses to facilitate case review, scheduling, and submission of materials.

• Conduct background investigations and other research.

• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, vendors, etc.

• Ongoing and dedicated management of case documents and data, including client information, case details, liens, medical providers, paid vs. incurred, court information, etc.

• Assist with attorney preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.

• Regularly collaborate with attorneys and other support personnel to ensure cases are efficiently worked up and pushed towards resolution.

• 3-5 years of solid experience in plaintiff-side medical malpractice and/or personal injury litigation. You must have experience working directly on a legal/litigation team in a legal assistant or paralegal capacity.

• Strong command of Texas civil procedure and local court rules.

• Proficiency with Office 365 and electronic case management/document management platforms.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
