The Line Cook prepares and cooks food on the line of a restaurant kitchen, ensuring dishes are cooked to order and meet quality standards. They are responsible for their assigned station, including prepping ingredients, cooking, plating, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Preparing ingredients by washing, chopping, and cutting vegetables, meats, and other food items.
- Cooking food to order using various methods like grilling, frying, sautéing, and broiling.
- Preparing and plating dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Setting up and stocking their station with necessary supplies and ensuring cleanliness.
- Taking inventory, stocking, and storing food items properly.
