Full Heart Family Therapy is seeking an experienced, independently licensed therapist to provide remote therapy for clients navigating sex addiction, problematic sexual behavior, and betrayal trauma.

Based in Ankeny, Iowa, our established group practice offers an opportunity for clinicians who want professional autonomy, administrative support, and connection with colleagues who understand this work. We welcome inquiries from experienced therapists considering a move from another group practice or seeking the support of a team after working independently.

Your caseload may emphasize individuals struggling with problematic sexual behavior, partners experiencing betrayal trauma, or both, depending on your training and clinical interests. Couples and group work may also be available for clinicians with appropriate experience.

We are particularly interested in clinicians with established specialty experience, strong clinical judgment, and professional referral relationships. CSAT or CPTT certification, candidacy, or comparable specialty training is preferred.

Our administrative team assists with scheduling, billing, and credentialing. Monthly clinical consultation provides opportunities for connection and discussion with colleagues. We value respectful relationships, thoughtful clinical work, and an approach that combines compassion with accountability.

Part-time and full-time arrangements are available for discussion. We welcome confidential conversations about your preferred schedule, clinical interests, and the timing of a potential transition.

This position offers remote, in-person, or hybrid options. Local clinicians may work at our Ankeny, Iowa office, provide telehealth, or combine both. Applicants living elsewhere in the United States are welcome to apply for a fully remote arrangement.

Clinicians must hold the appropriate Iowa license before beginning client care and meet applicable practice requirements in the state where they physically work. Remote work locations are subject to practice approval.

• Assess concerns related to problematic sexual behavior, betrayal trauma, and associated mental health difficulties.

• Provide individual therapy within your areas of competence.

• Help clients address harmful behavior patterns, strengthen accountability, and develop practical recovery goals.

• Support betrayed partners in understanding their experiences, strengthening boundaries, and identifying their needs and choices.

• Assess relationship safety and determine whether couples work is appropriate before offering conjoint treatment.

• Develop treatment plans that reflect clients’ goals and clinical needs.

• Provide couples or group therapy when consistent with your training and agreed role.

• Coordinate with other treating professionals when appropriate and authorized, maintaining clear treatment roles and confidentiality.

• Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time.

• Participate in clinical consultation and continued specialty development.

• Identify needs for additional assessment, medical care, or a different level of treatment and assist with referrals.

• Master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a related clinical field.

• Current independent Iowa clinical license as an LMHC, LMFT, or LISW, or eligibility and willingness to obtain the appropriate Iowa license before beginning client care. Clinicians holding comparable independent licenses in other states are welcome to apply.

• Ability to meet professional practice requirements in both Iowa and the state where you will physically work.

• Experience providing telehealth, or demonstrated ability to deliver effective care through a secure video platform.

• A private workspace, reliable internet connection, and ability to maintain client confidentiality while working remotely.

• Availability to participate in monthly clinical consultation by video.

• Relevant experience treating problematic sexual behavior, betrayal trauma, addiction, relational trauma, or closely related concerns.

• CSAT or CPTT certification, candidacy, or comparable specialty training preferred.

• Clinicians seeking further specialization should demonstrate relevant clinical experience and a commitment to appropriate training and consultation.

• Ability to approach sexual concerns without shame while maintaining clear accountability for harmful behavior.

• Understanding of the effects of deception and betrayal on partners and families.

• Ability to distinguish consensual sexual diversity from behavior involving loss of control, harm, or violations of agreements.

• Strong assessment skills, professional boundaries, and clinical judgment.

• Ability to provide affirming care across diverse identities and backgrounds.

• Experience with couples therapy or group facilitation is welcome but not required for an individual therapy role.
