Full Heart Family Therapy in Ankeny, Iowa, is seeking an experienced, independently licensed clinician to join our established group practice. We welcome LMHCs, LMFTs, LISWs, and licensed clinical psychologists.

You may already have an established caseload, a clinical specialty you enjoy, and professional relationships you have spent years developing. At this stage of your career, you may be looking for a practice setting that offers more support, flexibility, or connection with colleagues.

We welcome conversations with clinicians considering a move from another group practice or seeking administrative support after working independently. Your experience, clinical judgment, and professional interests will help shape your role.

Our administrative team assists with scheduling, billing, and credentialing. Monthly clinical consultation offers opportunities to discuss cases and connect with colleagues while maintaining autonomy in your clinical work. We value respectful relationships, thoughtful care, and clear communication throughout the practice.

Our current referral priorities include individual adults and adolescents seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship concerns. Clinicians with other established specialties are also encouraged to apply. Your clinical population will reflect your training, interests, and the practice’s needs.

Clinical psychologists with psychological assessment experience are especially welcome. We are interested in developing assessment services around the expertise of the psychologist who joins us. Potential assessment work would be discussed based on your qualifications, clinical interests, and the resources needed to provide those services well.

Part-time and full-time arrangements are available for discussion. We can explore your preferred schedule, clinical focus, and a realistic start date that takes existing professional commitments into account.

Local clinicians may work at our Ankeny office, provide telehealth, or combine both. Applicants elsewhere in the United States are welcome to apply for a remote arrangement. Clinicians must hold the appropriate Iowa credentials before beginning client care and meet applicable practice requirements where they physically work. Remote work locations are subject to practice approval.

Compensation

Part-time positions receive hourly compensation based on licensure, qualifications, and relevant experience. Full-time positions follow the practice’s percentage-based compensation model.

Compensation, scheduling expectations, and applicable benefits will be discussed during the hiring process. For psychologists incorporating assessment, the arrangement will address interviewing, test administration, scoring, interpretation, report writing, and feedback.

• Provide individual psychotherapy within your areas of training, competence, and licensure.

• Conduct clinical assessments, establish diagnoses when appropriate, and develop collaborative treatment plans.

• Use treatment approaches suited to clients’ needs, preferences, and goals.

• Review progress and adjust treatment as needed.

• Assess safety concerns and respond appropriately to changes in clients’ needs.

• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.

• Coordinate with the administrative team regarding availability, scheduling, and client needs.

• Collaborate with other treating professionals when appropriate and authorized.

• Participate in monthly clinical consultation and relevant practice communication.

• Identify needs for additional services or a different level of care and assist with referrals.

• For psychologists whose agreed role includes assessment: conduct evaluations, interpret findings, prepare integrated reports, and provide feedback within your areas of competence.

• Current independent clinical licensure as an Iowa LMHC, LMFT, LISW, or psychologist, or eligibility and willingness to obtain the appropriate Iowa credentials before beginning client care.

• For therapist applicants: a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a related clinical field.

• For psychologist applicants: a doctoral degree in psychology and applicable Iowa Health Service Provider credentials for the services provided.

• Established experience providing outpatient psychotherapy and independently managing an ongoing clinical caseload.

• Strong clinical judgment, professional boundaries, and treatment-planning skills.

• Ability to provide respectful, affirming care across diverse identities and backgrounds.

• Dependable documentation, organization, and communication.

• Ability to collaborate with colleagues while taking responsibility for your clinical work.

• An established clinical specialty or professional referral relationships are especially welcome.

• Psychological assessment training and experience are preferred for psychologists interested in incorporating assessment into their role.
