Responsibilities

Please note: This role requires prior legal experience, as it involves working directly with court filings, discovery, and active litigation matters.

As a Legal Assistant, you will:

  • Assist with producing discovery and cataloging discovery responses

  • Promptly contact assigned clients with developments on their cases

  • Draft correspondence to clients as needed

  • Submit pleadings and other court documents in Maryland and the District of Columbia

  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to prepare for mediations, depositions, or trials

  • Operate within a team environment, actively collaborating with colleagues

Qualifications

A Legal Assistant must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; be friendly, empathetic, and organized; and be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Prior experience working in a legal setting is required. Candidates without legal experience will not be considered at this time.

Additionally, you must possess the following skills:

  • Ability to manage time effectively and ensure deadlines and KPIs are met or exceeded

  • Strong organizational and communication skills—both oral and written

  • Excellent people skills with the confidence to approach clients with empathy

  • Proficiency in multitasking and adherence to processes

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and Attorneys

  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus

Compensation

$50,000 - $65,000 yearly DOE
