Charles V. Hardenbergh, PC, is a busy and growing criminal and traffic defense firm with offices in Lexington and Petersburg, Virginia. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal to join our Lexington team. This is an IN-OFFICE POSITION (no remote privileges) — presence, punctuality, and consistent attendance are essential to the success of this role and the team that depends on you.

What You'll Do

• Support attorneys and paralegals with case preparation, file management, and document organization
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and other parties on behalf of the firm
• Draft, proofread, and format legal correspondence and documents
• Track court dates, deadlines, and attorney calendars
• Maintain accurate and organized client files in our case management system
• Assist with general administrative duties to keep the office running smoothly

What We're Looking For

• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Prior legal experience is a plus, but not required — we will train the right person
