Bob Boldt HVAC is looking for a Lead Installer to take on our most demanding installation and repair work. This is a role for someone who has already put in the time in the field and is ready to lead jobs from start to finish, with the skill and judgment to back it up.

Our lead installers are the backbone of every project that comes through the door. You will be trusted to run complex jobs with little to no supervision, and your work will set the standard other team members look to as they grow in their own careers.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

You will handle full split and package unit changeouts, zone system installations, duct system replacements, humidifier installations, and plumbing work like tankless water heaters, water softeners, and hot water boilers. When something rare and unexpected comes up — a motor swap, a control board replacement — you're the one who handles it. You will diagnose refrigerant and electrical issues on the spot, plan and measure jobs before they start, run heat load and duct sizing calculations, and design a full retrofit for a home that needs one. You will braze and solder with precision, close out warranty calls without a second visit, and keep your work vehicle stocked and organized. You will also train and mentor installation helpers and specialists, giving other techs technical support in person and over the phone as they build the skills to move up the same path you did.

• Complete full split and package unit changeouts and other HVAC installation projects, including zone systems, duct system replacement, and humidifier installation

• Perform HVAC repairs including TXV and compressor changeouts, leak searches, and rare-scenario fixes like motor and control board replacement

• Complete plumbing installations with little to no guidance, including tankless water heaters, water softeners, and hot water boilers

• Braze and solder to a highly proficient standard

• Assess refrigerant charge and diagnose issues such as under/overcharges, refrigerant restrictions, and airflow restrictions

• Diagnose electrical issues using a strong working knowledge of electrical principles

• Plan and measure up HVAC and plumbing installations, including heat load calculations, duct sizing, and gas line calculations

• Design a complete retrofit for a residential system, including full split or multi-head mini-split installs

• Close out warranty calls on any plumbing or HVAC installation without issue

• Train and mentor installation helpers and specialists, and provide technical support in person and over the phone

• Keep your work vehicle stocked and organized

• Follow all Bob Boldt HVAC processes and procedures, and hold your own work to a standard that keeps getting better

• Minimum of 3 years of installation experience in the HVAC trades

• NATE Certified, including the core test and at least four specialties (heat pump, air conditioning, gas furnace, and air distribution recommended)

• No trade school certification required — we care about what you can do, not where you learned it
