We are seeking an in-office Junior Litigation Paralegal to support plaintiff-side medical malpractice and birth injury litigation from case opening through trial preparation. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive team member who can manage deadlines, communicate effectively, and keep complex litigation moving forward. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. This role is not eligible for remote work.

Compensation: $55,000-$68,000, depending on experience. Eligible for performance-based bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Own

  • Manage court filings, eFiling/eService, incoming e-filings, emailed documents, and case calendar deadlines.
  • Draft letters, deposition notices, Chapter 74 notice letters, initial disclosures, deposition requests, and discovery requests and responses.
  • Coordinate service of process, deposition scheduling, setting hearings, and meetings with experts.
  • Prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials, including notebooks for experts, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Send documents to experts, manage expert-related materials, and conduct background research on clients, experts, and witnesses.
  • Maintain case data in Filevine, manage deadlines, maintain paid v. incurred charts, and respond to ad hoc client requests or questions.

Backup Responsibilities

  • Assist with new client case opening, welcome packets, document gathering, file setup, client onboarding/offboarding, and client status updates.
  • Support drafting motions, pleadings, petitions, family agreements, discovery, settlement-related documents, and other legal materials.
  • Help manage experts in the litigation phase, expert payments, CVs, fee schedules, medical records, liens, minor settlements, and client expenses.
  • Provide administrative and office support, including incoming/outgoing mail, postage, faxes, supplies, conference room preparation, guest reception, law library maintenance, shredding, and general office coordination.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of solid experience in plaintiff-side medical malpractice and/or personal injury litigation.
  • Strong command of Texas civil procedure and local court rules.
  • Proficiency with Filevine, Lead Docket, Office 365, or similar tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused litigation environment.

Compensation

$55,000 - $68,000/year
