A Community Manager provides management, direction, and leadership to ensure properties are maintained and operated in accordance with the objectives of each Association and the Company. A successful Community Manager in HOA and condo management needs to possess excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Additionally, knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, financial management, and community development is essential for effective performance in this role.
Responsibilities
Communication and Engagement:
- Facilitate effective communication between residents, board members, and other stakeholders.
- Organize community events and activities to foster a sense of community.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from residents in a timely and professional manner.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage and maintain community records, including resident information, financial records, and governing documents.
- Coordinate board meetings and prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with HOA/condo regulations and policies.
Financial Management:
- Oversee budgeting and financial planning for the community.
- Collect and manage association fees and assess fines as needed.
- Work closely with the board to ensure financial stability and transparency.
Property Management:
- Oversee maintenance and repair activities for common areas.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for necessary services.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
Enforcement of Rules and Regulations:
- Enforce community rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
- Address violations and work with the board to develop and implement policies.
Legal Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant local, state, and federal laws affecting community associations.
- Ensure the community's compliance with legal requirements.
Conflict Resolution:
- Mediate disputes between residents or between residents and the board.
- Work towards maintaining a harmonious living environment.
Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities in case of emergencies.
Technology and Software Management:
- Utilize software and technology tools for efficient community management.
- Maintain an updated community website or communication platform.
Reporting:
- Provide regular reports to the board and residents on community activities, financial status, and other relevant matters.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on industry best practices and trends.
- Attend relevant training and educational programs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Property Management, Public Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in community association management, property management, or a related leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of HOA/condominium governing documents, association operations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, board members, and vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organization, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software; experience with community association management platforms preferred.
- Professional designation such as CMCA, AMS, or PCAM preferred, or willingness to obtain industry certifications as required.
Compensation
$60,000 - $70,000/year
