Aloft Newport on the Levee is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to help lead our housekeeping team and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department, supervising and assisting team members, inspecting guest rooms and public areas, and ensuring that rooms are clean, properly maintained, and ready for our guests.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, communicates effectively, and can hold themselves and their team accountable to hotel and Marriott brand standards.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for this position to ensure clear and effective communication with housekeeping team members, hotel leadership, and other departments.
Supervise and support housekeeping associates during daily operations.
Assign daily room boards and responsibilities based on occupancy, staffing, arrivals, departures, and hotel needs.
Inspect cleaned guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards are met before rooms are released.
Identify cleanliness deficiencies and work directly with team members to correct them.
Report maintenance concerns promptly and communicate room issues to Engineering and Front Desk leadership.
Monitor room status throughout the day and help ensure rooms are completed and available by check-in time.
Conduct inspections of guest rooms, hallways, housekeeping closets, storage areas, and other assigned hotel areas.
Maintain high standards for bathrooms, bedding, linens, floors, furniture, fixtures, amenities, and overall room presentation.
Coach and train housekeeping associates on proper cleaning procedures and brand expectations.
Communicate instructions, expectations, training, and feedback effectively in both English and Spanish.
Provide clear, respectful feedback and hold employees accountable for performance and quality.
Assist with onboarding and training new housekeeping employees.
Help manage linen, guest supplies, cleaning products, and housekeeping inventory.
Ensure housekeeping carts, closets, and storage areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Communicate guest requests, room concerns, lost-and-found items, and operational issues to the appropriate department.
Assist with cleaning rooms or public areas when necessary to support the team and hotel operation.
Follow all hotel safety, security, chemical-handling, and sanitation procedures.
Work closely with Housekeeping Management, Front Office, Engineering, and hotel leadership to provide a consistent guest experience.
Leadership Expectations
The Housekeeping Supervisor is expected to lead by example. This position requires someone who is comfortable providing direction while also being willing to work alongside the team when needed.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
Previous hotel housekeeping experience strongly preferred.
Previous supervisory, team-lead, or management experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to effectively lead, coach, train, and hold team members accountable.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to communicate professionally with employees, guests, and hotel leadership.
Ability to work independently and make appropriate operational decisions.
Familiarity with Marriott or Aloft standards is preferred but not required.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on hotel occupancy and operational needs.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular walking, standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift. The employee must be able to push housekeeping carts, handle linens and supplies, and perform housekeeping duties when operationally necessary.
Compensation
$17 - $18 hourly
