We're searching for an experienced assistant general manager to help our general manager at the Grand Naniloa Hotel Hilo, a DoubleTree by Hilton, plan and oversee the hotel's day-to-day operations. When the general manager is unavailable, you will be in charge of supervising personnel, dealing with client problems, and ensuring that our customers enjoy a 5-star experience. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about providing exceptional customer service while adhering to hotel budget and quality standards. This position will need to relocate to Hilo, HI

Responsibilities

Ensure that all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as any corporate or brand-established policies and practices, are followed
Create the yearly hotel budget in collaboration with the general manager and department heads, and assess and adjust performance throughout the year to stay profitable
Empower the human resources department to increase efforts for turnover management, employee motivation, and employee growth and retention by providing support
Recommend improvements that will improve the hotel profitability by analyzing department performance and identifying problem areas
Assist general manager in the day-to-day operation of the hotel in maintaining all standards of guest service

Qualifications

Rooms and Front Office leaderhip experience
Hilton experience preferred

A high school diploma or GED, and a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in hospitality management or a related field
Must have at least 3 or more years of experience in the hospitality field
Must have a strong focus on putting the guest first with exceptional customer service experience
A proven record of experience managing a team, preferably in a hospitality role, is required
Possess excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skills

Compensation

$110,000 - $120,000 yearly
