Join our team at the Hilton Charlotte University Place as a Host/Hostess. The restaurant hostess (or host) is the primary front-of-house greeter responsible for welcoming customers, managing the dining flow, and setting the tone for the guest experience.

• Guest Greeting: Welcome arriving guests warmly with eye contact and a friendly attitude, making a strong first impression.

• Seating & Floor Management: Escort guests to their assigned tables, distribute menus, introduce the assigned server, and balance server rotations evenly across the floor.

• Reservations & Waitlists: Manage phone and digital bookings, record reservation details, and keep accurate waitlists during busy periods with realistic time estimates.

• Phone & Takeout Inquiries: Answer incoming phone calls, handle general questions about hours or the menu, and occasionally assist with takeout order processing.

• Team Coordination: Communicate constantly with servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to track table turnover and readiness.

• Station Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized reception area and host stand, and assist with side work such as wiping down menus or resetting tables.

• Communication: Clear, polite verbal communication and active listening skills.

• Multitasking & Organization: Ability to manage a busy room, juggle phone calls, and track multiple table rotations simultaneously.

• Composure Under Pressure: Ability to stay calm, patient, and welcoming during high-volume meal rushes.

• Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems or digital reservation software.

• Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand and walk for long shifts.

Education & Experience

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred.

• Experience: Prior customer service, hospitality, or restaurant experience is a strong plus, though many entry-level positions provide on-the-job training.
