Browning & Associates, P.C. is a professional guardianship firm in Bingham Farms, Michigan, serving clients in Southeast Michigan and the Lansing area. We serve as professional guardians, conservators, and trustees for people with cognitive impairments. We support clients with decisions about all aspects of their lives, including residence, finances, health, and well-being.

Compensation: $30 - $40 hourly

Daily duties consist of assisting the Guardian with making arrangements for the care and custody of the client (an impaired adult with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or dementia) by making sure their daily needs are met and they are getting the care they need.
Understand client goals
Ensure compliance with state regulations and legal requirements
Provide guidance and support to clients and their families
Make decisions using best judgment in key areas of the client’s life, and follow through on decisions made for wards such as living arrangements, medical decisions, quality of life improvements, etc
Maintain accurate and confidential case records
Manage and maintain a caseload of clients and complete all required documentation
Make visits to clients within and outside their home setting (i.e., nursing home, group home, independent living, assisted living, apartment, house, public environments, etc.)
Coordinate and/or attend interdisciplinary care conferences
Attend medical appointments
Provide oversight of the client's plan of care
Participate and attend required company meetings
Manage multiple, conflicting schedules to ensure meetings include required participants, locations, technology, etc
Ensure requests for responses and other feedback are met, proactively check deadlines on incoming requests, and use best judgment in making decisions
Maintain confidentiality
On-call rotation: share weekly on-call responsibilities with other Guardian Representatives. Currently, once every 6 weeks; includes evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Experience in legal or social services preferred
Strong understanding of guardianship and conservatorship laws in Michigan and National Guardianship Association standards preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Experience working with traumatically brain-injured or developmentally disabled individuals preferred
Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
Willing to obtain Guardianship Certification, required
Able to work in challenging situations. The job includes driving to appointments and taking clients to appointments. Driver’s license and auto insurance required
Able to navigate stairs
This work is hybrid - client meetings in the community, and some work can be completed at home
Compensation
$30 - $40 hourly
