Our growing construction company is looking for a reliable and capable general laborer to join our team. You’ll follow the project foreman’s direction to prepare job sites, load and unload material, remove debris, help team members, and do any other tasks to ensure the customer is satisfied with our work. Responsibilities

Replace existing siding, windows, and doors on homes throughout North Alabama
Install James Hardie fiber cement siding according to Hardie's best practices and guidelines
Install replacement windows and doors according to manufacturer guidelines
Build and replace decking systems using composite decking products to meet manufacturer and code requirements
Ensure proper weather barrier, flashing, and moisture management details on every project
Maintain Freedom Exteriors' quality standards on every project

Take away any remaining tools, trash, and building materials once construction is complete to ensure a clean work site
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure you and your team members are free from injury
Unload and stack all building materials and tools needed for a project so that everything is accessible and easy to find for the project
Work with your crew through all stages of the project to make sure that the job is done efficiently
Dispose of any debris, trash, or hazardous materials that are found on the site to prepare it construction starts

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in general residential carpentry (framing, trim, siding, windows & doors, or decking)
Experience in installing siding products strongly preferred
Deck construction experience preferred
Working knowledge of weather barrier, flashing, and moisture management best practices
Comfortable working at heights on ladders and scaffolding safely and confidently
Reliable, self-directed, and able to maintain production pace without constant supervision
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship on every project

Some experience using construction equipment, forklift, hand tools, and power tools highly preferred
Experience with construction builds is a big plus, but we are willing to train on the job for motivated candidates
Needs to be good at following directions and complete tasks, both independently and on a team
Our crew members must be physically able to do the work with reliable hand-eye coordination and balance
High school diploma or GED preferred

Compensation

$23 - $25/hour
