We are looking for a highly motivated Gas Distribution Inspector to provide leadership and inspect gas construction projects in the NYC region. This is a great opportunity for experienced gas mechanics to demonstrate their leadership and advance their career. You will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities adhere to company standards, regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices.
This position is crucial for upholding the safety and integrity of gas distribution systems in the region. The pay rate varies based on experience and OQs.

• You will be required to inspect work performed by construction contractors and supervise, ensuring adherence to specifications, proper work methods, and appropriate use of facilities and equipment.

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures. They must possess the ability to keep accurate and detailed field records, including daily job reports, material usage and locations, and field test records.

• Be knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHA. All inspectors will be required to ensure that any job they’re overseeing is maintained in a safe manner and meets or exceeds safety and environmental policies and procedures. Inspectors will need to make sure the contractor’s equipment is being used within its limits.

• Present a neat appearance. Have strong communication skills to interact and coordinate professionally on a daily basis.

• Have strong organizational skills to complete daily paperwork, maps, and documentation with a clear comprehension of construction units of measurement.

• Inspectors must be able to understand and implement all Environment, Health, and Safety Plan (E-HASP) requirements. Ensure that each contractor complies with the respective environmental rules and regulations for each project location.

• Be capable of handling customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

• Provide input in conjunction with Quality Assurance field visits.

• Some OT available.

• Have prior experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with an emphasis on plastic pipe installation. Inspectors will be required to oversee construction projects on Underground Distribution and other types of utility projects.

• Have a minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience.

• An Inspector may be required to oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages at one time (from design to completed final folder closeout).

• An Inspector must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry.
