The Inventory Control Specialist is integral to the ongoing success of the business. The Inventory Control Specialist oversees the ordering, storing, receiving, and distributing processes of merchandise and supplies. They manage merchandise flow, track and analyze inventory maintenance, and develop protocols for loss mitigation. They are instrumental in maintaining accurate records of physical inventory and are responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory storage space. Using an inventory management system to manage, update, and analyze inventory records, the Inventory Control Specialist will manage store inventory to ensure appropriate inventory and stock levels are maintained. The Inventory Specialist liaises between store personnel and vendors so that an optimum customer experience relative to merchandise availability, quality, and selection exists.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, open-to-buy (OTB), and aged inventory.

  • Prioritize keeping fast sellers in stock.

  • Perform stock balancing as necessary with vendors.

Shipping and Receiving

  • Receive packages according to established protocols, including accurately entering inventory into the Luxe system.

  • Quality control all merchandise.

  • Receive merchandise against invoices and forward for payment. Note all exceptions to store leadership and reconcile with vendor.

  • Check payment terms to ensure accuracy as negotiated.

  • Ship merchandise and other valuables within the store insurance and packaging guidelines.

  • Ensure consignment returns are completed by their deadlines.

  • Execute asset or memo return to vendor (RTV) items per negotiated terms. Reconcile resulting SKU’s.

Custom and Special Orders

  • Manage special order process including approving and placing orders.

  • Create purchase orders in the POS system.

  • Track items to ensure they arrive on time.

  • Communicate with vendors in a timely manner to ensure that custom and special orders are completed and received by due dates.

Pricing

  • Monitor proper mark-up parameters and approve all pricing for special orders and custom.

  • Monitor proper mark-up on all vendor orders and receipts.

  • Follow progressive markdown process to reduce aged inventory.

Operations

  • Coordinate, participate in, and reconcile annual physical inventory.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of inventory reduction events.

  • Keep all files and paperwork organized and up to date.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and assigned area of responsibility.

  • Participate in opening and closing activities as required.

  • Participate in store meetings.

Education & Work Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Luxe software.

  • Knowledge of fine jewelry.

Physical Demands: Sits for extended periods of time. Has visual acuity to read a computer screen and manual dexterity to operate industry-specific tools and equipment such as a jeweler’s loupe or microscope. Able to bend and reach throughout the shift. Able to lift or carry items weighing less than 25 lbs.

Compensation

$20 - $25 hourly
