Financial Analyst

Big Money Retirement Solutions is seeking a highly analytical, organized, and proactive Financial Analyst to support our Lead Advisors in preparing comprehensive financial planning analysis for prospective and existing clients.

This is not simply a data-entry or report-generation position.

Our Financial Analysts play an important role in the financial planning process by taking complex client information and transforming it into clear, accurate, Advisor-ready analysis. You will work closely with Lead Advisors to understand the questions they are trying to answer, build the appropriate financial models and projections, prepare cash-flow analyses, and help ensure Advisors walk into client meetings fully prepared.

A successful Paraplanner is someone who naturally thinks ahead. Rather than waiting for a daily task list, you will maintain awareness of upcoming Advisor meetings, identify what work will be required, determine whether client information or statements are missing, communicate with prospects or clients when additional documentation is needed, and manage your workload according to upcoming deadlines and priorities.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers but can also explain what those numbers mean. The right person will be analytical enough to build sophisticated planning scenarios, organized enough to manage multiple upcoming meetings and deadlines, and communicative enough to sit down with a Lead Advisor and confidently explain their analysis.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Build financial planning models and analyses using Firm-approved financial planning platforms.

  • Work extensively within tools such as Kwanti, RightCapital, Nitrogen, Stonewood, and Social Security Timing, along with other planning technology utilized by the Firm.

  • Analyze client and prospect financial information to support retirement and allocation discussions.

  • Build retirement-income and cash-flow projections.

  • Prepare portfolio and asset-allocation analysis.

  • Conduct risk analysis and scenario comparisons.

  • Model Social Security timing strategies.

  • Evaluate alternative planning scenarios requested by Lead Advisors.

  • Analyze the impact of changes in retirement dates, income, spending, portfolio allocation, withdrawal strategies, and other planning assumptions.

  • Review planning inputs for accuracy and reasonableness before completing an analysis.

  • Ensure account values, account types, ages, income sources, assumptions, and other relevant information are accurately represented.

  • Identify conflicting, incomplete, or questionable information before it reaches the Advisor.

  • Maintain organized planning files, supporting documents, and completed analyses.

Peace of Mind Cash-Flow Analysis

  • Prepare Big Money Retirement's one-page Peace of Mind cash-flow analysis for every allocation meeting.

  • Gather and organize the household information necessary to create an accurate representation of the client's financial picture.

  • Analyze applicable income sources, Social Security, pensions, investment income, retirement distributions, expenses, assets, cash reserves, tax assumptions, and other relevant cash-flow considerations.

  • Translate complex household financial information into a clear and understandable one-page analysis.

  • Review the completed analysis for accuracy before providing it to the Lead Advisor.

  • Identify potential cash-flow concerns, planning gaps, or assumptions that should be discussed before the client meeting.

  • Help the Advisor understand what is driving the results and which variables could materially affect the plan.

Advisor Meeting Preparation & Workload Management

  • Review assigned Lead Advisor calendars every business day to maintain awareness of upcoming prospect and client meetings.

  • Identify planning work associated with upcoming meetings before it becomes urgent.

  • Independently organize and prioritize assignments based on meeting dates, complexity, required preparation time, and client needs.

  • Maintain visibility into work that is upcoming, in progress, waiting on information, or completed.

  • Identify potential deadline conflicts and communicate them proactively.

  • Establish realistic completion timelines with Lead Advisors.

  • Communicate changes or delays before an agreed-upon deadline is missed.

  • Balance multiple Advisors, meetings, planning assignments, and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Client & Prospect Statement Coordination

  • Review client and prospect records to determine whether required financial statements and information have been received.

  • Identify missing, incomplete, or outdated statements.

  • Communicate professionally with prospects and clients to request necessary financial information.

  • Clearly explain what documentation is needed and when it is needed.

  • Follow up appropriately when requested information has not been received.

  • Review received statements to ensure they are complete, legible, current, and sufficient for the intended analysis.

  • Notify the Lead Advisor when missing information may affect the ability to complete planning work on schedule.

Lead Advisor Collaboration

  • Work directly with Lead Advisors to understand the purpose and objective of each planning assignment.

  • Ask thoughtful questions to clarify what the Advisor wants to demonstrate during an upcoming client or prospect meeting.

  • Translate Advisor requests into appropriate financial models and scenarios.

  • Collaborate on alternative projections and planning strategies.

  • Help Advisors evaluate different approaches before presenting recommendations to clients.

  • Communicate unusual findings, planning risks, or unexpected model results.

  • Make appropriate revisions based on Advisor feedback.

  • Ensure completed work is organized and Advisor-ready before the scheduled meeting.

Planning Summaries & Communication

  • Provide concise summaries of significant planning work completed for Lead Advisors.

  • Clearly communicate what analysis was built and why.

  • Explain the assumptions used within financial models.

  • Identify the important differences between multiple scenarios.

  • Explain what changed and how those changes affected the outcome.

  • Highlight potential risks, limitations, or unanswered questions.

  • Identify information that may still need to be confirmed with the client.

  • Clearly articulate why a financial plan appears to work—or why it does not.

  • Help Lead Advisors quickly understand the most important takeaways from the analysis rather than requiring them to interpret a collection of reports on their own.

  • Enjoys solving analytical problems.

  • Is naturally curious about why numbers produce a particular result.

  • Has exceptional attention to detail.

  • Is highly organized and capable of managing multiple deadlines.

  • Can independently prioritize work without requiring constant direction.

  • Thinks ahead and anticipates what will be needed.

  • Is comfortable working with detailed financial information.

  • Can learn and navigate multiple financial planning software platforms.

  • Understands that sophisticated software does not replace thoughtful analysis.

  • Reviews their own work carefully before considering it complete.

  • Is comfortable identifying when something does not look right.

  • Communicates concerns proactively rather than waiting until a deadline.

  • Can explain complex financial concepts in clear, understandable language.

  • Is comfortable collaborating closely with financial Advisors.

  • Asks thoughtful questions when expectations or assumptions are unclear.

  • Sets clear expectations regarding workload and completion timelines.

  • Communicates professionally with clients and prospects when requesting financial information.

  • Takes ownership of assignments from beginning through completion.

  • Remains calm and organized when managing competing priorities.

  • Values accuracy, preparation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
