Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

Manage full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution
Independently handle decision-making on a case-by-case basis.
Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants
Work as part of a team with all levels of experience and be open to cross-training for coverage outside the associate duties.
Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients.
Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation
Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement

Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed

Qualifications

Must have worked in Family Law for at least two years.
Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas

Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background
Candidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are high
4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary
Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants

Compensation

$115,000 - $150,000/year
