5-Star Paralegal for Regional Law Firm

This is an opportunity to join a bilingual law firm that helps clients protect their children and assets during a divorce. You will engage in a team-based approach to create the right solution for clients seeking relief from toxic family situations.

KEY DUTIES
The Paralegal’s key duties will be:

• Perform legal research; draft memos, pleadings, motions, and orders as requested by the attorney; proofread and e-file documents for an attorney.

• Proactively manage caseload by creating and prioritizing tasks and milestones for client matters in CMS with an attorney and legal assistant

• Prepare files and the attorney for hearings and trials and ensure clients are kept informed and prepared for hearings.

• Provide matter updates to clients after hearings with an attorney, act as translator for an attorney as needed, and respond to client questions under attorney supervision.

• Document all matter notes in CMS for each client for documents drafted, filings, telephone conferences, meeting notes, file reviews, and communications with OC.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
The Paralegal will be measured based on the following:

• Documents are drafted and filed by the assigned deadline.

• Tasks are entered for every matter in CMS, and all deadlines are updated each Friday.

• Fully updated files are provided to the attorney 7 days before hearing or trial.

• Client updates are provided within 24 hours of a client call, and clients are updated on any matter updates within 24 hours.

• Productivity is maximized by billing 30 hours per week.

• All notes are entered and billed in CMS for each client by the end of every day.

The Paralegal position requires the following skill set:

• 5 years' experience working as a litigation paralegal in family law.

• Speaks, reads, and writes English and Spanish fluently.

• Paralegal Certificate preferred.

• Experienced building rapport with team members and clients through active listening and showing respect and professionalism.

• Skilled with technology to prioritize and complete tasks on time in automated CMS such as RocketMatter or Clio, Dropbox, Family Law Software, and Pipe file.

• Excellent emotional intelligence to handle high-stress callers.
