Fuentez Law is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and client-focused Family Law Paralegal to join our growing team. This is a hybrid position with work locations in Friendswood and Magnolia, Texas.

We are looking for someone who understands that a great paralegal is more than an assistant—they are an essential part of the legal team. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, takes ownership of deadlines and case responsibilities, communicates effectively with clients and attorneys, and thrives in a fast-paced family law practice.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Starting salary of $35,000 per year

• Bonus potential after meeting the firm's required billable-hour requirement

• 15 days of PTO after completing 6 months of employment

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Assist attorneys and the Head Paralegal with the day-to-day management of family law cases.

• Independently manage case deadlines, calendars, and tickler systems.

• Draft and prepare family law pleadings, motions, orders, discovery requests, and discovery responses.

• Prepare inventories and appraisals and assist with financial documentation and case organization.

• Prepare and organize trial notebooks and trial materials.

• Assist attorneys with preparation for hearings, mediations, and trials.

• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and provide timely case updates.

• Respond promptly to client and team emails and requests.

• Maintain organized electronic and paper case files.

• Assist with discovery, document production, subpoenas, exhibits, and other litigation-related tasks.

• Work closely with attorneys and the Head Paralegal to ensure cases remain on track and deadlines are met.

• Adapt to changing priorities and the evolving needs of a busy family law practice.

• Meet weekly minimum billable hour requirements.

• Daily input of billable hours.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

• At least 2 years of family law paralegal experience.

• Strong understanding of Texas family law litigation and procedures.

• Ability to work independently and take initiative without constant supervision.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to calendar, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

• Experience drafting family law pleadings and motions.

• Experience preparing and responding to discovery.

• Experience with inventories and appraisements.

• Experience preparing trial notebooks and trial materials.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Experience with MyCase.

• Experience with Westlaw Form Builder.

• Ability to assist attorneys and the Head Paralegal effectively.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Ability to adapt well to change and shifting priorities.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.

• Ability to respond to emails and requests promptly.

Family law clients are often experiencing some of the most difficult periods of their lives. We are looking for a paralegal who is client-centered, responsive, professional, patient, and sympathetic while still maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

The right candidate understands the importance of returning calls and emails promptly, keeping clients informed, following through on commitments, and treating every client with respect and compassion.

BILINGUAL HIGHLY PREFERRED

Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
