Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child custody and contested divorces is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now!
Responsibilities
Help effectively solve legal problems for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, and marital settlement agreements; handle the division of marital assets, judgments, and orders for family law cases
Attend court proceedings as needed to ensure effective representation of clients
Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
Consult with potential clients to ascertain their needs and decide on the next steps
Engage in matter management to ensure timely progress in all cases
Confirm all work is consistently quality-reviewed for case law and written content/clarity
Qualifications
Must be licensed to practice law in South Carolina and have 1-2 years of family law experience
- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- Undergraduate degree with a legal background and Juris Doctor degree required
- Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
Compensation
$100,000+ depending on experience
