Family Attorney
Kalish & Jaggars, PLLC • West Palm Beach, FL, US
Posted 22 hours ago
Many attorney jobs end up feeling like you’re just moving paper from one place to another. This position isn’t that.
Family law is different. You’re working with people who are going through one of the hardest and most important times in their lives, and they actually need you. You’re not just drafting documents; you’re helping someone figure out what the next chapter of their life looks like.
If you do it well, you can make a real difference for them and their kids, and you get to see that impact firsthand.
This role is built for someone who wants to be in that position.
You’ll have your own caseload, your own clients, and the responsibility that comes with it.
You won’t be stuck in the background doing someone else’s grunt work; you’ll be the attorney on the case, making decisions, building relationships, and seeing your work through from start to finish.
And while you’ll have autonomy over your cases, you won’t be on an island; we work as a team.
Our experienced support staff and established systems handle scheduling, billing, intake, and other administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on practicing law, serving your clients, and moving cases forward.
There’s supervision, support when you need it, and systems already in place to help you succeed so you can focus on doing good work.
This role is hybrid, combining both in-office presence and the flexibility to work remotely. Our office is in West Palm Beach.
What You’ll Be Doing
Managing your own caseload from start to finish, including onboarding, case strategy, and resolution
Drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Attending hearings, mediations, and court proceedings
Communicating directly with clients and guiding them through each stage of their case
Negotiating settlements and working toward efficient, practical outcomes
Preparing cases for trial and handling trial when necessary
Working with our team to move cases forward and keep everything on track
What We're Looking For
Someone with a good personality who communicates well with clients and the team
Someone who likes working as part of a team
Someone who appreciates systems and processes and understands why they matter
Someone who genuinely cares about helping people
Someone who has at least 2 years of family law experience or has 5 years of litigation experience
Not a Good Fit If…
You prefer working completely independently without coordination
You don’t like following systems or structured workflows
You’re not comfortable communicating with clients
If you’re someone who avoids the courtroom or prefers to stay behind the scenes, this likely isn’t the right role for you (we always encourage settlement but sometimes court intervention is necessary).
You need constant reminders to complete tasks
You’re just looking for any job
