Our law group is growing, and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent clients in all areas of family law. You’ll assist individuals in a variety of situations, such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues, such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. • Develop case strategies, provide leadership, and guide paralegals and legal assistants
• Handle full caseloads independently, from case inception to resolution
• Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memos on complex case issues
• Appear in court for various family law proceedings, representing clients in high-stakes situations
• Prepare clients for trials, advocate on their behalf, and work with experts when necessary
• Oversee the division of marital assets and negotiate settlements in divorce cases
• Maintain organized client files, ensuring documentation accuracy and timeliness
• Cultivate relationships with clients, providing clear communication and emotional support through challenging situations

Who We’re Looking For:

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years in Family Law litigation and courtroom advocacy (required)
• Licenses: Licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia
• Skill Set: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic problem-solving, and attention to detail
• Mindset: A compassionate and resilient advocate with experience navigating high-stress, emotional cases with a client-focused approach
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in analyzing and summarizing legal documents with strong attention to detail
• Team-Focused: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Estate Planning experience
• Proven success in advocating for both plaintiffs and defendants
• Strong negotiation skills, especially under stressful conditions
