Compensation includes a competitive base salary based on experience, with significant performance upside tied directly to exceeding reasonable annual billing expectations.

  • Anthoor Law Group’s annual billing expectation is approximately 1,450 billable hours, based on 30 billable hours per week over 47 working weeks.

Responsibilities

The Family Law Attorney will manage a sophisticated family law caseload while working collaboratively with experienced paralegals, support staff, and firm leadership.


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing family law matters from initial consultation through final resolution
  • Developing legal strategies tailored to each client’s goals, facts, and circumstances
  • Representing clients in court hearings, conferences, settlement conferences, mediation, and trial when necessary
  • Drafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, discovery, marital settlement agreements, judgments, orders, and other family law documents
  • Handling matters involving divorce, legal separation, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, domestic violence, and prenuptial or postnuptial agreements
  • Advising clients on property characterization, division of marital assets, real property issues, and financial matters arising in dissolution proceedings
  • Negotiating favorable resolutions while preparing each case as though it may proceed to trial
  • Maintaining proactive and professional communication with clients throughout the life of each matter
  • Working closely with paralegals and legal support staff to ensure cases move efficiently and remain current, compliant, and court-ready
  • Maintaining accurate, well-organized client files and case records
  • Exercising sound judgment, professionalism, and strong advocacy in high-conflict and emotionally charged situations


  • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
  • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
  • Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings

Qualifications

We are looking for an attorney who takes ownership of their work, exercises sound judgment, and enjoys solving difficult legal problems for clients.


Qualified candidates should have:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active license and good standing with the State Bar of California
  • Minimum of 3 years of family law experience in a law firm environment required
  • 5+ years of hands-on family law experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing family law matters, including contested and negotiated proceedings
  • Experience appearing in court, negotiating settlements, and handling high-conflict family law matters
  • Experience with divorce, custody, support, domestic violence, property division, and real property issues in dissolution proceedings
  • Strong legal writing, oral advocacy, negotiation, and client communication skills
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage a substantial caseload
  • Professionalism, confidence, and calm judgment in emotionally charged situations
  • Prior experience with complex financial issues, high-asset matters, or litigation through trial is a plus
  • Prior work or studies in criminal justice or related legal practice areas are also a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in highly stressful and emotional situations
  • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required

Compensation

$150,000 - $180,000/year
