Collins Family & Elder Law Group is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our growing Greenville office. This is an opportunity for an established attorney who is ready to handle sophisticated family law matters while practicing with the resources and support of a well-established firm.

Our attorneys handle meaningful, often complex cases involving divorce, equitable distribution, custody, support, and related family law matters. We are looking for an attorney who is confident managing cases from initial strategy through resolution, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation when necessary.

The right candidate will have strong family law experience, sound judgment, excellent client-management skills, and the ability to independently move cases forward. We value attorneys who are proactive, responsive, practical, and committed to providing clients with exceptional representation during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

This position offers significant autonomy without requiring you to practice alone. Our attorneys are supported by an established team, firm systems, marketing, technology, and administrative resources so they can focus on practicing law and serving clients.

• Independently manage a caseload of family law matters from initial consultation through final resolution

• Develop and execute effective case strategies tailored to each client’s goals and circumstances

• Represent clients in divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and other family law matters

• Handle contested hearings, motions, mediations, depositions, and trials

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, court orders, and other legal documents

• Conduct and manage discovery, including financial and asset-related issues in complex domestic cases

• Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel and work toward favorable resolutions when appropriate

• Prepare clients thoroughly for hearings, mediation, depositions, and trial

• Maintain clear, proactive, and responsive communication with clients throughout their cases

• Ensure cases move forward efficiently and that deadlines, court requirements, and firm procedures are consistently met

• Work collaboratively with team members, and other attorneys to provide excellent client service

• Review case progress regularly, identify potential problems early, and take appropriate action to keep matters moving

• Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping, case documentation, and client files

• Contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm’s Greenville office

• Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing

• Significant experience practicing family law, with the ability to independently manage cases from intake through resolution

• Strong knowledge of South Carolina family law and court procedures

• Meaningful courtroom experience, including contested hearings and trials

• Experience handling divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution matters

• Strong negotiation, mediation, legal research, and litigation skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to develop case strategy, identify issues early, and proactively move cases toward resolution

• Strong client-management skills, including the ability to effectively counsel clients through difficult and high-conflict matters

• Highly organized and able to manage deadlines and a substantial caseload

• Professional, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with attorneys and support staff

• Commitment to providing high-quality, ethical, and responsive client service
