At Sophos Academics, we don’t believe in fragmented support. Our reading specialists, math interventionists, executive function coaches, and speech therapists work together on one plan for one student. We’re looking for an executive function coach who wants to be part of that team, not another provider working in a silo.
You’ll work with elementary, middle, and high school students who struggle with the skills that make learning work: getting started on tasks, staying organized, holding information in working memory, taking notes, preparing for tests, and managing frustration when things get hard. Many of our students have ADHD, and all of them are capable learners who need the right systems to show it.
I started Sophos because struggling students shouldn’t have to piece together support from five places that never talk to each other. Here, you’ll work alongside specialists who share your students, share your goals, and share what’s working. Every student can learn. The approach just has to fit the student.
Coach students one-on-one in task initiation, time management, planning, organization, and follow-through
Teach practical strategies for note-taking, studying, and test-taking
Support working memory with tools and routines students can actually use
Help students recognize and regulate the emotions that get in the way of starting, sticking with, and finishing work
Provide accountability, encouragement, and mindset coaching tailored to each student
Collaborate with the student’s reading, math, and speech specialists so every part of their plan connects
Document progress and keep families (and schools, when appropriate) informed with direct, transparent communication
Lead with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
Experience in one or more of the following:
Teaching, tutoring, or work as a learning specialist
Educational, clinical, or school psychology
Counseling or educational therapy (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, or similar; licensure not required)
Executive function coaching
You should also have:
A strong understanding of adolescent development and how executive function skills grow over time
Clear, honest communication with parents and collaborative colleagues
The ability to build steady, supportive coaching relationships while maintaining healthy professional boundaries
A belief that students are whole people, not a collection of deficits to address
Compensation
$50 - $60 hourly
Sophos Academics is an integrated tutoring company serving students ages 5 to 18 in Arizona. We specialize in reading intervention, math support, executive function coaching, and speech/OT therapy, all delivered by a collaborative team working from a single plan for each student.
I started Sophos because struggling students shouldn’t have to piece together support from five places that never talk to each other. After 15+ years in education, I’d watched too many bright, capable kids fall through the cracks between providers. So we built something different.
Every student begins with a diagnostic assessment that looks for root causes, not just symptoms. From there, our specialists build one individualized plan and keep talking to each other, to families, and to schools, so nothing gets siloed. We run the business with complete transparency: families always know exactly what they’re getting and why.
Every student can learn. The approach just has to fit the student.
