Job description:

Estate Planning Attorney

Base starts at $120,000, and with bonus, total comp runs from $150,000 to $350,000 depending on experience and results.

20West Legal | In-Office Sudbury, MA

At 20West Legal, we’re a small but mighty estate planning firm that values grit, intelligence, humor, and getting things done the right way. We take our work seriously—but not ourselves. We believe great legal work is built on strong relationships, clear communication, and a team that enjoys working together.

We’re looking for an estate planning associate who knows their craft and genuinely enjoys working with people. This role will serve as the primary guide for prospective and new clients, leading initial planning conversations, helping families understand their options, and building the trust that allows them to move forward with confidence.

In many ways, you’ll be the frontline attorney for client engagement someone who can listen closely, educate clearly, and translate complex legal concepts into practical decisions. The right person understands that estate planning is both technical and relational: clients choose to work with us not only because of the quality of our legal work, but because of how we make them feel throughout the process.

If you’re organized, adaptable, collaborative, and bring a positive attitude (bonus points for a good sense of humor), you’ll fit right in.

This is an in-office role based in Sudbury, MA, where you’ll be part of the daily rhythm of the firm, learning, growing, contributing, and making a real impact on clients and the community.

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Yep, this sounds like me,” we’d love to hear from you. Bonus points if your personality comes through. What’s your favorite dessert, and why? We care just as much about how you think and communicate as what’s on your résumé.

Base starts at $120,000, and with bonus, total comp runs $150,000 to $350,000 depending on experience and results.

What you’ll do

  • Build relationships with clients from the first meeting through signing and beyond

  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives in WealthCounsel

  • Make sure every document is accurate and compliant with current state and federal law

  • Review completed documents with clients and run signing ceremonies

  • Manage your matters from consultation to completion, working closely with our paralegals and admin team

  • Represent the firm at seminars, client events, and community outreach

  • Stay current on estate planning law and share ideas for improving how we work

What we’re looking for

  • JD from an accredited law school

  • Active admission to the Massachusetts bar

  • 2 to 5 years of experience required

  • Solid familiarity with wills, trusts, and probate

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfort leading client consultations and helping people make big decisions

  • The ability to build rapport quickly and explain complex ideas

  • Independence and a good attitude in a small, fast-paced team
