Description
We're seeking a sharp Estate Plan Drafter who can provide attorneys on our drafting program with high-quality and accurate estate plan drafts for their clients. You'll work with our team to prepare estate plan drafts and help keep us on track with our promised turnaround times. If you're a focused and meticulous person who likes a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!
Notes
- This position is fully virtual.
- Our team is generally available weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM MT. While there are no set working hours, you should be reasonably available to communicate with our team during those hours when questions arise.
- We anticipate the workload will begin at approximately 15 hours per week, although actual hours may be higher or lower in any given week. As demand grows, additional work may become available, potentially increasing to a workload comparable to full-time hours over the next 3–12 months.
- The Estate Plan Drafter is responsible for providing a reliable computer at their own expense and maintaining a work environment conducive to undivided attention for drafting work and the occasional virtual call with our drafting team.
- We will provide the Estate Plan Drafter with access to the attorney's chosen drafting software, a business email address, and user licenses to our software systems that facilitate our workflow.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and complete estate plan drafts for our attorneys in accordance with the data they provide, and communicate with attorneys from time to time to clarify questions so as not to delay the preparation of the estate plan draft.
- Complete drafting software interviews, assemble documents, make post-assembly edits, review documents for accuracy, recommend custom language based on the data provided by the attorney for each estate plan, complete the steps on the drafting checklist, and proofread.
- Prepare estate plan summaries, asset spreadsheets, trust diagrams, deeds into trust, business assignments, and guardianship documents based on our templates.
- Use our operational systems to keep our team informed of your progress and stay up to date on our standard operating procedures as they are updated over time. Openly communicate any inefficiencies or opportunities you notice in our processes so that we may incrementally improve our service.
- Be flexible, attentive, communicative, and courteous in all interactions with our team and our attorneys.
Qualifications
- A qualified candidate will have an active or inactive attorney license, a paralegal certificate, or at least two years of experience working with a law firm, preferably in an estate planning setting.
- Drafting experience in WealthDocx, ElderDocx, ADAPT, Trustate, and/or InterActive Legal is highly preferred.
- Applicants must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times.
Compensation
