The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong commercial and industrial electrical experience, exceptional safety awareness, and the ability to oversee projects from planning through completion while maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

Position Summary

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for managing field operations, supervising electrical crews, coordinating project activities, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes and regulations. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience working directly with permitting agencies, inspectors, customers, and project management teams.

Leadership & Crew Management

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors.

  • Coordinate daily jobsite activities and manpower requirements.

  • Assign tasks and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

  • Foster a positive, productive, and professional work environment.

  • Train employees on company procedures, safety requirements, and quality expectations.

Project Execution

  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, electrical schematics, and specifications.

  • Coordinate installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.

  • Ensure projects are completed according to customer expectations and company standards.

  • Monitor labor productivity and material usage.

  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to management.

Safety Leadership

  • Serve as the primary safety leader on assigned projects.

  • Conduct daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and safety meetings.

  • Enforce OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E requirements, and company safety policies.

  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices.

  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

  • Promote a culture where safety is the highest priority.

Permitting & Inspections

  • Coordinate electrical permits and inspections for assigned projects.

  • Schedule and manage inspections with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).

  • Ensure all installations comply with NEC requirements, Florida building codes, and local regulations.

  • Assist with permit closeouts and required documentation.

  • Ability to self-permit projects under a qualifying Florida Electrical Contractor license is highly preferred.

  • Maintain positive relationships with inspectors, municipalities, and utility representatives.

Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction experience.

  • Minimum 2 years of foreman, lead electrician, or supervisory experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).

  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage multiple project priorities.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Willingness to travel throughout Florida.

Preferred

  • Florida Journeyman or Master Electrician License.

  • OSHA 30 Certification.

  • NFPA 70E Certification.

  • Experience with commercial, industrial, power distribution, utility, solar, EV charging, switchgear, transformers, and medium-voltage systems.

  • Experience pulling permits and coordinating inspections across multiple Florida jurisdictions.

  • Ability to self-permit electrical work where authorized by Florida licensing requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work at heights.

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to safely perform all duties while wearing required PPE
