Director of Operations: Help Lead Our Growing Hotel Portfolio in Miami / Hollywood, FL

We own and operate two hotels, The Barley House and Dolce, are acquiring a third, Marlin Bay, and will open The LS Hotel (approx. 260 rooms) within the next two years. We're looking for a hands-on Director of Operations who knows hotel operations from the back of the house to the front desk, understands the numbers, and loves developing people.

You'll be the Corporate Director of Operations' right hand across both hotels, splitting your time on-site between The Barley House and Dolce. You'll keep both properties guest-focused and profitable, including our food & beverage outlets and amenities, build consistent ways of working across the portfolio, and play a key role in bringing Marlin Bay into the family and getting The LS Hotel ready to open.

What you'll do

Lead operations across both hotels

• Partner with the Corporate Director of Opeations to run daily operations at The Barley House and Dolce across Front Office, Housekeeping, Public Areas and Laundry, Engineering, Security, and F&B outlets and amenities.

• Split your time on-site between both properties, working directly with each hotel's department heads to solve problems, raise standards, and keep both teams moving in the same direction.

• Own the numbers with the Corporate Director of Opeations: P&L for each hotel, annual budgets, bi-weekly forecasts, month-end closes, payroll and labor management, expense control, and AR/chargeback oversight.

• Work with Sales and Revenue Management to grow occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR at each property. Review STR reports and act on what they show.

• Improve guest satisfaction scores and uphold brand and company standards: inspect and audit both properties, respond to reviews, and personally resolve escalations.

• Serve as Manager on Duty and act for the Area General Manager when needed.

Build consistency across the portfolio

• Standardize SOPs, training, and service standards so guests and team members get the same quality experience at every hotel.

• Set up and manage shared services across properties where it makes sense, such as purchasing, laundry, engineering, accounting, or HR support.

• Coordinate labor and scheduling across both hotels, including cross-training and sharing team members to cover peaks and control costs.

• Hire, coach, and develop department leaders at both hotels. Build a pipeline of future managers ready to support our new properties.

• Make sure HR policy, safety, and regulatory requirements are followed consistently at every property.

Help us grow

• Marlin Bay acquisition: Help lead the transition and integration, including the systems and PMS conversion, aligning SOPs and standards, and onboarding and retaining the existing team.

• The LS Hotel pre-opening: Support opening planning, including the hiring and staffing plan, SOPs and training, pre-opening and operating budgets, and selection and setup of systems.

• Support renovations, new-service projects, and other initiatives as the portfolio expands

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of progressive hotel management experience, including 3+ years as AGM, Director of Operations, Director of Rooms, or above.

• Multi-property, cluster, or area-level leadership experience strongly preferred.

• Branded or independent/boutique hotel experience. Full-service and select-service backgrounds are both welcome.

• Hands-on experience with at least one hotel pre-opening, acquisition transition or integration, or major systems/PMS conversion.

• Hands-on P&L experience: budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost control, ideally across more than one property.

• Working knowledge of revenue KPIs (ADR, RevPAR, STR) and experience partnering with Sales.

• Proven success leading multi-department teams, building SOPs, and developing leaders.

• A strong guest-first mindset and a record of improving guest satisfaction and audit scores.

• PMS proficiency (Opera, OnQ, Marriott systems, or similar) and Microsoft Office.

• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

• Able to work on-site at both hotels in Miami / Hollywood, FL, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and evenings.

• A bachelor's degree in Hospitality / Hotel & Restaurant Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience opening a hotel of 200+ rooms.

• Experience with shared-services or centralized operating models.

• Recognition for operational or service excellence.

• Experience with spa, laundry (in-house or commercial), or F&B outlet operations.

• International experience, especially in Latin America or the Caribbean.

• A training or teaching background, or industry certifications.

Your growth path

This role is built for a leader who wants to grow with us. As our portfolio expands from two hotels to four, the Director of Operations will have a clear path to grow into a General Manager role. You'll gain direct experience in acquisitions, openings, and multi-property leadership along the way.

Schedule

Full-time, split on-site between The Barley House and Dolce, with time at Marlin Bay and The LS Hotel as projects require. Shifts rotate based on business needs and include weekends and holidays.
