As a Design Center Professional, you’ll play a key role in one of the most exciting moments of the homebuilding journey, helping our customers bring their dream home vision to life! You’ll guide homeowners through selections, finishes, colors, and personalized design options while creating an exceptional experience from start to finish.
What we’re looking for:
Someone who is creative, personable, organized, and passionate about helping people! You don’t just have an eye for design; you know how to listen, ask the right questions, and turn a customer’s ideas into a home they’re excited to call their own!
Schedule and complete selection appointment(s) with Buyers(s) within timeframe provided at start of contract in pre-construction process.
Record and submit selections documentation to customer for approval. Secure fully executed change orders to agree with all selection documentation.
Follow up with each Customer selections question and/or concern in a timely manner.
Complete Selections for Models and Ready Homes within the timeframe provided at the start of contract in the pre-construction process. Record and submit documentation and complete Change Orders for approval.
Create visually appealing PDF design boards for Models/Ready Homes.
Work with Purchasing Department to keep Design Studio inventory updated for product, pricing, and design trends.
Create and maintain product and/or selection information binders for Design Center. (Examples include overall selections binder, kitchen/bath cabinetry, countertops, plumbing, appliances, and others as deemed necessary.)
Visit home sites a minimum of twice monthly to evaluate finished homes and product accuracy. Report and collaborate with other departments on areas of improvement.
Core Competencies/Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and intrapersonal skills.
Ability to work in a Team environment, lead a positive atmosphere, and work with other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Excellent time management and organization skills.
Adaptable to changing work priorities while meeting deadlines.
Ability to read and comprehend detailed construction blueprints, specifications, and basic development drawings.
Basic technology skills, including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and back-office systems.
Technical construction ability to plan efficient construction and price custom selection options.
Required Experience/Education:
1-3 years prior experience in Interior Design
Experience in residential design preferred
Minimum technical college degree
Four-year college or university degree preferred
Compensation
$55,000 - $65,000 + Bonus
