Customer & Office Coordinator

Signarama • Charleston, SC, US

Posted 7 hours ago

You’ve worked a front desk, a service counter, or a busy office where the person in front of you got your full attention. You’re usually the one who catches the detail everyone else missed.

Signarama of Charleston is hiring a Customer & Office Coordinator. This is the first person customers talk to when they call or walk into the shop. Most of them already know they want a sign. Your job is to listen, figure out what will work, write the estimate, and turn it into a work order the whole shop builds from. You’ll also handle office work like permits and invoicing.

We take on the signs other shops pass on: complex, custom work where one wrong measurement costs real money. What we quote is what customers pay, and the sign goes up looking the way they pictured it, on the day we promised. That’s why customers who could pay less elsewhere keep calling us.

This is a full-time, hourly, in-person position at our shop in Mount Pleasant, Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 5:00.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

A property manager calls about a sign for a new tenant. A walk-in wants something for a grand opening and isn’t sure what’s possible. You ask the questions that get to what they need, suggest a sign that will work, and write up the estimate. Once they say yes, you write the work order clearly enough that design and production never have to guess. Between customers, you help submit permits and track where each one stands, send invoices, file completion photos from finished installs, and check in deliveries. Every job here is custom, so a misspelled name or a wrong number on a work order ends up on a sign. You’ll learn the products and the process on the job, and you’ll take on more as you’re ready.

WHO BELONGS HERE

  • When a customer isn’t sure what they want, you keep asking questions until you can picture the sign as clearly as they can.

  • Before a call ends, you read back every name and number, because a customer’s name is the first thing they check on their sign

  • Invoices and completion photos get the same care from you as a customer at the counter, because the shop depends on both.

  • Learning how signs are actually built matters to you, and you’re willing to put in the time before taking on bigger projects.

  • Something you haven’t seen before doesn’t stop you. You work out what you can, then bring the rest to the right person with the details already gathered.

  • Showing up on time and ready is a given for you, and on a busy day you keep conversations short and useful.

Signarama of Charleston is a locally owned sign shop in Mount Pleasant, and we’ve been making signs for our neighbors across the Charleston area for years, from a banner for a grand opening to channel letters on a storefront. Every sign we make is custom, and since our third week in business, the price we quote has been the price our customers pay. That’s why property managers call us first and send their tenants our way.

We treat each other with the same care. We exist so our customers never have to think twice about their signage, and so the people who make that happen are building something of their own. Our team looks out for one another. When one of our installers was hurt on a job, his teammates finished the install that same day and covered his schedule for the rest of the week without anyone asking. It’s a small shop where everyone knows each other, and the work you do ends up on buildings all over town.
