Description
The Legal Calendar Clerk is the backbone of our deadline management. You will own the firm-wide calendar across both our family law and personal injury dockets, track court settings and filing deadlines, and prepare and file Notices of Hearing with the appropriate courts.
This is an ideal entry-level opportunity for a detail-oriented, deadline-driven person who wants to build a career in the legal field. No prior legal experience is required — we will train the right candidate on our systems, court e-filing, and Texas court procedures.
Responsibilities
Calendar management — Maintain and monitor the firm-wide calendar for both family law and personal injury cases, including court settings, hearings, mediations, depositions, discovery deadlines, and statutes of limitation.
Deadline tracking — Calculate and enter litigation deadlines based on court orders, scheduling orders, and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure; proactively flag upcoming and conflicting dates for attorneys and staff.
Notices of Hearing — Prepare, e-file, and serve Notices of Hearing with the appropriate courts and parties, and confirm hearing dates with court coordinators.
Court coordination — Communicate with court coordinators and clerks in Collin, Denton, Dallas, and Tarrant Counties to obtain, confirm, and reset hearing dates.
E-filing — Submit filings through eFileTexas and monitor filing acceptance/rejection status.
Case management system — Keep all dates, tasks, and deadlines accurately entered and updated in the firm's case-management platform (Filevine).
Team support — Distribute daily and weekly calendar reports to attorneys and legal staff, and provide reminders ahead of critical deadlines.
Records — Maintain organized, accurate electronic records of all calendar entries, notices, and confirmations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree, paralegal certificate, or relevant coursework is a plus.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills — accuracy with dates and deadlines is essential.
Ability to manage many competing deadlines calmly and prioritize under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with computers and standard office software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, PDF tools).
Dependable, punctual, and able to work full-time, on-site in our Plano office.
