Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on CNC Machine Shop Lead / Senior Setup Machinist to serve as the technical anchor on our shop floor. Working alongside our programming and production management, you will lead floor flow across a tight-knit 3-person machinist team while taking hands-on ownership of complex setups on late-model Haas and DN Solutions (Doosan) 3/4-axis mills and dual-spindle live-tool lathes.

This role offers the ideal blend of technical craftsmanship and growth: you run and prove out high-precision parts on Day 1, with a direct pathway to transition into full shop supervisory responsibilities as our team continues to expand.

Schedule & Benefits Overview • Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday (standard 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible early start times available; actively exploring a transition to a 4x10 schedule).

• Overtime: Predictable ~5 hours/week typical, with additional overtime available during peak runs.

- Perform complex setups, work holding setups, and tool offset adjustments on 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills as well as dual-spindle live-tooling lathes.

- Prove out new Mastercam programs and collaborate directly with CNC Programmers and Engineering to optimize cycle times, tooling choices, and feeds/speeds.

- Coordinate daily floor flow across our agile machinist team, balancing machine capacity and job handoffs to meet production deadlines.

- Conduct first-article and in-process quality inspections against engineering prints and GD&T requirements using precision metrology hand tools.

- Serve as the primary floor contact for routine preventive machine maintenance, tooling/insert consumable inventory, and vendor coordination.

- Provide practical mentorship and technical guidance to shop machinists, fostering a clean, high-standard, safety-first work environment.

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in a precision CNC machine shop environment.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead, delegate, and mentor floor technicians.
• Technical Mastery: Deep knowledge of multi-axis CNC mill/lathe setup, tool offset compensation, speeds/feeds, and blueprint reading.
• Industry Preference: Background or passion for automotive racing, defense, or aerospace manufacturing is highly valued.
• Education: Technical school degree, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
