Velocity Work is a boutique consultancy helping small law firm owners build more profitable, sustainable businesses through better data, clearer strategy, and stronger accountability.

We are looking for someone who provides data operations and reporting support to professional-services businesses. You will complete recurring client-data deliverables across financial reporting, performance tracking, and dashboard quality assurance.

This engagement is best suited to someone who combines technical accuracy with good judgment, personal responsibility, and a genuine desire to produce reliable work.

Work is accepted based on completeness, accuracy, source traceability, and delivery by the agreed deadline.

The right person does more than transfer numbers between files.
You naturally ask:
• Where did this number come from?
• What period does it represent?
• Does it belong in this category?
• Do the totals reconcile?
• Does the label accurately describe the calculation?
• Can another person verify what I did?

You take responsibility for the quality of your deliverables. You raise issues early, communicate directly, and do not quietly make assumptions when the source material is unclear.

The relationship
You will:
• Control your working methods, schedule, and location, subject to agreed deliverables and deadlines
• Provide your own equipment and ordinary business tools
• Be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and operating expenses
• May provide services to other clients
• Invoices Velocity Work under the agreed payment terms
• Is not eligible for employee benefits

• Must comply with confidentiality, data-security, and client-privacy requirements

The engagement may begin with a defined paid project so both parties can evaluate accuracy, communication, and working fit before considering additional assignments.

This position is remote in Mexico

Scope of services
Depending on each assigned project, services may include:
• Updating client tracking sheets using financial, marketing, intake, case, and team-performance source data
• Importing and reconciling P&L statements and other financial reports
• Maintaining budget projections, goal scorecards, producer information, and KPI tracking
• Comparing source reports, spreadsheet calculations, and dashboard values
• Identifying missing, stale, duplicated, misclassified, or structurally incorrect data
• Preparing data and reporting materials ahead of client planning engagements
• Mapping source fields to reporting outputs
• Documenting repeatable data-maintenance processes
• Using AI-assisted tools to accelerate research, reconciliation, and quality checks
• Reviewing all AI-assisted output before delivering completed work
• Reporting unclear inputs, discrepancies, and blockers with a concise explanation

Expected deliverables
Each assignment will define its required output, source materials, deadline, and acceptance criteria. Deliverables may include:

• Completed monthly client-data updates
• Reconciled financial reports
• Updated projection models
• Documented discrepancy reports
• Verified dashboard and spreadsheet values
• Source-mapping documentation
• Written operating procedures

• Strong Google Sheets proficiency
• Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic business reporting
• Experience reconciling information across multiple sources
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines independently
• Clear written communication
• Sound judgment when handling incomplete or conflicting information
• Comfort using AI tools while independently verifying their output
• Experience protecting confidential financial and client information

Helpful experience includes bookkeeping, financial reporting, data operations, business analytics, professional services operations, ClickUp, and dashboard tools.
