Kirby Creative Accounting (KCA) is an established, growing accounting firm seeking a Client Accounting Manager to help take our business to the next level.

We have a strong foundation, an experienced bookkeeping team, and exciting opportunities for growth. We're looking for someone who can help turn that potential into reality.

In this role, you'll work directly with our founder to manage client relationships, qualify prospective clients, guide new client onboarding, and develop processes that support sustainable growth. You'll also work closely with our bookkeeping team to ensure new engagements align with both our ideal client profile and the team's capacity to deliver exceptional service.

This is not a traditional bookkeeping position. You'll use your accounting knowledge to assess financial records, identify discrepancies and cleanup needs, and coordinate solutions with the bookkeeping team rather than performing day-to-day bookkeeping yourself.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery calls with prospective clients, assess their accounting needs, and determine whether they align with KCA's ideal client profile.

• Review financial records and QuickBooks Online accounts to identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential cleanup requirements.

• Collaborate with the bookkeeping team to determine project scopes, realistic timelines, and available capacity before onboarding new clients.

• Prepare and present service recommendations and pricing proposals using established company guidelines.

• Guide new clients through onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition and clear communication between clients and the bookkeeping team.

• Conduct ongoing financial review meetings, helping business owners understand their financial statements and make informed decisions.

• Manage client relationships, follow-ups, and expectations to maintain a consistently positive client experience.

• Work with company leadership to improve workflows, strengthen internal processes, and support sustainable business growth.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, client accounting services, or a related financial role.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and the ability to interpret balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

• Ability to identify accounting discrepancies, missing information, and potential cleanup needs.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to business owners.

• Strong organizational skills, professional judgment, and attention to detail.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, manage competing priorities, and establish realistic client expectations.

• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the confidence to take ownership and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with small-business owners or managing accounting client relationships.

• Background in outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, CPA, or financial advisory services.

• Experience with client consultations, onboarding, pricing proposals, or financial reviews.

• Familiarity with real estate accounting or multi-entity financial reporting.

• Experience improving business processes or developing client service workflows.
