Child Behavioral Health Therapist, LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT
Join our play therapy team! We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about helping others grow and can provide the personal touch that our families are often looking for. Embracing ongoing professional development opportunities is essential to this role, in addition to creating relationships based on connection and effective treatment strategies. It is important for you to feel empowered as a provider by experiencing yourself as continuing to gain knowledge and expertise in your chosen niche. We have a thriving child therapy team, and we'd like to add an additional provider to meet the ongoing demand for therapists who specialize in working with children.
We are seeking a therapist who has proven experience in supporting children. Preferred therapist will have play therapy experience and is either credentialed as a play therapist or wants to participate in the play therapy credentialing program at The Hazel Counseling Center for Families and Children to become a Registered Play Therapist.
This position will be a 3-4 day per week employment position, including after-school hours to accommodate school schedules. Play therapy supervision is provided as part of the employment contract as a W2 employee. For a credentialed play therapist, there is an opportunity to also provide supervision.
In addition, the practice owner is seeking someone either familiar with or wanting to learn how to apply interpersonal neurobiology into interventions for clients of all ages as a foundation for understanding client needs, in addition to using specialized knowledge with a preferred focus.

Responsibilities
- Job responsibilities will be consistent with the population served.
- Provide compassionate and effective therapy to children and families, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Utilize play therapy techniques to engage with young clients, fostering emotional and psychological growth.
- Utilize trauma-informed treatment modalities to assist clients in their healing
- Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs and goals.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in interpersonal neurobiology to enhance therapeutic interventions.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to expand your expertise and skills.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client sessions and progress.
- Engage in regular supervision and peer consultations to ensure high-quality care and continuous improvement in practice.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed in the state of Florida to provide mental health services.
- Experience in providing therapy to children and families, with a focus on creating a safe and supportive environment.
- Ability to utilize play therapy techniques effectively to engage young clients and promote emotional growth.
- Proven track record of developing personalized treatment plans tailored to individual client needs and goals.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn interpersonal neurobiology to enhance therapeutic interventions.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed on the latest therapy practices.
- Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate and timely records of client sessions and progress.
- Ability to engage in regular supervision and peer consultations to ensure high-quality care and continuous improvement in practice.
Compensation
$55 - $75/hour
