Certified Medical Assistant for Outpatient Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic

Responsibilities
- Assist physicians and other providers in delivering top-notch patient care by preparing examination rooms and equipment.
- Coordinate patient appointments and manage scheduling to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Collect and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare provider, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medication instructions, and healthy lifestyle choices to promote well-being.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Support the clinical team in managing inventory and ordering medical supplies to ensure readiness for patient care needs.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Certification as one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA – AAMA)
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA – AMT)
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC – AMCA)
- Candidates actively pursuing certification within the next 90 days are also encouraged to apply.
Preferred
- Three or more years of outpatient medical assistant experience (preferred but not required).
- Experience in pulmonology, sleep medicine, or specialty clinic is desired.
- Experience using EMR systems, prior authorizations, referrals, and insurance workflows.
- Strong computer and technology skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Compensation
$20 - $27/hour
