Business Civil Litigation Attorney (Full-Time) – Hybrid Remote

The Law Office of Parag L. Amin, P.C. (“LawPLA”) is a fast-growing business litigation and employment defense firm seeking an experienced litigation attorney who can step in, take ownership of an active docket, and move matters forward with momentum and precision. This is not a training role. You will be expected to contribute immediately with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with firm leadership and a seasoned support team.

We were recently named a Top-Rated Workplace in Southern California by the Los Angeles Times, and we take culture seriously: high standards, clear accountability, and real support systems that allow strong lawyers to do strong work. You will work in a hybrid environment that respects focus time while keeping collaboration tight, and you will have direct access to firm leadership when decisions need to be made. We also believe in rewarding meaningful contributions through production-based incentives—because we want performance and results to matter here.

In this seat, you will run point on meaningful matters, and you will feel the satisfaction of seeing litigation move because you moved it. You will be trusted with real responsibility, and you will be given the runway to exercise judgment, not just churn tasks. Your drafting will read like it was written by someone who understands both the law and the endgame—tight, persuasive, and calibrated to the posture of the case.

You will manage discovery with discipline and intention, keeping the record clean and the team out of avoidable chaos. You will communicate with clients in a way that earns confidence: clear on risk, clear on options, and clear on what happens next. And you will quickly become an associate the firm can rely on, because you do what you say you will do, you surface issues early, and you keep the work moving without drama, surprises, or last-minute scrambling.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $125,000–$145,000/year (DOE) base salary, plus production bonuses tied to billable-hours performance and matter throughput, with top performers having the opportunity to push past $200,000 in total compensation

  • Benefits include health coverage as well as a vacation and paid time off policy to support work-life balance after the probationary period of 90 days is completed

INDIVIDUAL APPLICANTS ONLY. NO AGENCIES. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE FIRM DIRECTLY. FOLLOW THE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED IN THIS JOB POSTING.

  • Own and drive an active docket of business litigation and employment defense matters from early strategy through resolution, with visible momentum and clean follow-through.
  • Develop a case strategy, execute against it, and keep matters progressing without last-minute scrambling, ambiguity, or repeated prompting.
  • Draft and respond to written discovery (ROGs, RFPs, RFAs), including discovery planning, meet-and-confer posture, and motion support as needed.
  • Prepare for and take/defend fact and expert depositions, translating testimony into leverage, next steps, and strategic adjustments.
  • Lead law-and-motion practice, including dispositive motions and motions in limine, producing writing that is court-ready, persuasive, and aligned with case posture.
  • Prepare for and participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and other ADR, including risk analysis, settlement posture, and negotiation execution.
  • Communicate with clients clearly and proactively about risk, options, costs, and next steps—building confidence and preventing surprises.
  • Coordinate effectively with leadership and support staff to protect deadlines, maintain case hygiene, and uphold service standards across matters.
  • Maintain disciplined operational reliability: accurate time entries, organized files, and consistent use of firm systems so the team can trust the data and the work.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license in good standing and a clean disciplinary record.
  • 4+ years of business litigation and/or employment defense litigation experience.
  • Proven ability to handle discovery and depositions independently.
  • Strong command of California civil procedure and evidence.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and effective in a hybrid environment (remote work with periodic in-office collaboration).
  • Professional, steady, and high-integrity in all interactions with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and firm staff.
  • Strong litigation judgment—able to translate legal leverage into timely, business-sensible outcomes.
  • Clear, client-ready communication skills, including the ability to explain risk and strategy without unnecessary heat or ambiguity.
  • High ownership bias: accountable for outcomes, deadlines, and follow-through.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365, PDF/document tools, e-signature platforms, and modern matter-management workflows.
