About Prestige Accounting & Consulting
Prestige Accounting & Consulting is an accounting and business advisory firm that helps law firm owners understand their finances, improve profitability, strengthen operations, and build scalable businesses.
Our work extends beyond bookkeeping, tax preparation, and financial reporting. We help law firm owners make better decisions about cash flow, hiring, compensation, marketing, technology, leadership, and long-term growth.
Our advisors serve as strategic partners to clients by translating financial and operational information into clear, practical recommendations.
Position Summary
The Law Firm Business Advisor is responsible for helping law firm owners understand their financial performance and make informed decisions that support profitable, sustainable growth.
This position combines accounting knowledge, financial analysis, business consulting, client relationship management, and executive coaching. The advisor will conduct regular client meetings, review financial and operational performance, identify challenges, recommend solutions, and hold clients accountable for implementing agreed-upon action plans.
The ideal candidate is financially knowledgeable, highly consultative, comfortable leading conversations with business owners, and able to explain complex information in clear, practical language.
This is not a traditional accounting position focused primarily on preparing financial statements or completing reconciliations. The successful candidate will use financial information as the foundation for broader conversations about strategy, operations, team development, marketing, profitability, and growth.
Client Advisory Meetings
Lead approximately 15–20 client advisory meetings per week after completing the onboarding and training period.
Prepare for each meeting by reviewing financial statements, budgets, key performance indicators, previous action items, and relevant operational information.
Facilitate structured conversations that help law firm owners understand what is happening in their businesses and what actions they should take next.
Explain financial results in plain language and connect those results to business operations and decision-making.
Establish credibility and trusted-advisor relationships with law firm owners, partners, and leadership teams.
Document meeting decisions, recommendations, responsibilities, and deadlines.
Follow up with clients to encourage accountability and implementation.
Financial Analysis and Planning
Review profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, budgets, forecasts, accounts receivable, and other management reports.
Identify financial trends, risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Help clients develop and maintain annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts.
Evaluate whether clients can afford proposed hires, compensation changes, marketing investments, technology purchases, or other expenditures.
Help clients establish revenue, profit, cash-reserve, and owner-compensation goals.
Monitor actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and established targets.
Partner with Prestige’s accounting team to resolve reporting issues and improve the accuracy and usefulness of client financial information.
Identify situations requiring tax-planning, accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or compliance support and coordinate with the appropriate internal team members.
Business Growth and Operational Consulting
Advise clients on hiring plans, organizational structure, role clarity, compensation, and staffing capacity.
Help clients evaluate attorney, paralegal, and support-staff productivity.
Assist clients in developing meaningful financial and operational key performance indicators.
Evaluate marketing spending and help clients understand cost per lead, cost per client, return on investment, conversion rates, and marketing profitability.
Help clients assess pricing, billing, collections, utilization, realization, matter profitability, and service delivery.
Identify operational barriers that are limiting profitability, capacity, client service, or growth.
Guide clients through quarterly and annual planning conversations.
Recommend improvements to systems, processes, technology, delegation, and accountability.
Help clients translate long-term business goals into practical quarterly priorities and action plans.
Client Success and Relationship Management
Maintain regular communication with assigned clients.
Monitor client engagement, satisfaction, progress, and risk.
Proactively address concerns that could negatively affect the client relationship.
Identify clients who are not implementing recommendations and develop appropriate accountability strategies.
Coordinate with internal accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and operations team members to ensure a consistent client experience.
Recognize opportunities where clients may benefit from additional Prestige services.
Encourage client referrals by consistently delivering valuable advice and an exceptional client experience.
Participate in client onboarding, quarterly reviews, annual planning sessions, and service-renewal conversations.
Internal Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
Maintain accurate client notes, action plans, meeting summaries, and follow-up tasks in the company’s designated systems.
Participate in internal client-status meetings and communicate important developments to the appropriate team members.
Help develop and improve Prestige’s advisory tools, templates, scorecards, meeting agendas, and consulting processes.
Share recurring client challenges and emerging law firm trends with company leadership.
Participate in professional development related to law firm management, accounting, consulting, leadership, and financial strategy.
Support the training and mentoring of future business advisors as the advisory department grows.
