We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Engineer to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our high-rise office building in downtown Fort Worth, Texas. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of building systems and a commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our tenants. This role requires early morning availability and some weekend work.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, and optimize HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air handlers, etc.)
  • Oversee electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency power.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing systems, addressing leaks and ensuring proper water pressure.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection and life safety systems (alarms, sprinklers, elevators, escalators).
  • Monitor and control building systems through the Building Automation System (BAS).
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Respond to tenant requests for repairs and troubleshoot building system issues.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Respond to building emergencies (power outages, fire alarms, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Assist in the development of operating budgets.
  • Communicate effectively with tenants regarding building system issues or maintenance activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Building Engineer, preferably in a high-rise office building environment.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical license) are a plus.
  • Must be able to work early hours and some weekends.


Compensation
$80,000
