Broadcast Technician
Pegasus Studios is seeking an experienced Broadcast Technician to join our growing team. We currently have opportunities in two service regions:
- South Bay/Beach Cities: Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and surrounding communities.
- Ventura County: Camarillo, Malibu, Agoura Hills, Moorpark, and surrounding communities.
In this role, you will support the production and broadcast of live government meetings while helping maintain the broadcast systems that keep these operations running smoothly. Technicians work in professional government meeting facilities and television studios, operating and supporting a variety of broadcast equipment.
The ideal candidate has experience with video production and broadcast systems, including video switchers, robotic camera control, graphics systems, audio consoles, streaming platforms, and A/V infrastructure. Candidates should be comfortable troubleshooting technical issues, working under live production deadlines, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in a public meeting environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of modern broadcast technologies while supporting city councils, county boards, and other public agencies throughout Southern California. Schedule
This is a part-time position supporting live television broadcasts of local government meetings and special events. Most scheduled shifts occur Monday through Thursday. Meeting schedules occasionally extend beyond the planned end time. Additional productions may be scheduled on Fridays, and maintenance or equipment upgrade shifts may be scheduled on non-broadcast days.

Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor professional television broadcast equipment for live government meetings and community events.
- Operate broadcast production systems including video switchers, robotic camera controls, graphics (CG), audio consoles, playback, and recording systems.
- Record, archive, and schedule broadcast programming and television replays.
- Assist with routine maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and upgrades of broadcast and A/V equipment.
- Identify and report equipment issues, malfunctions, or maintenance needs.
- Follow established production workflows and operating procedures to ensure reliable live broadcasts.
- Work collaboratively with producers, directors, engineers, and other production staff.
- Maintain a professional appearance, communicate effectively, and represent Pegasus Studios in a courteous manner while working in government facilities.
- Perform other production and technical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in television broadcasting, live production, audio/visual, video production, or a related field is required.
- Experience operating broadcast equipment such as video switchers, cameras, graphics systems, audio consoles, or streaming equipment is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm in a live production environment.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned work locations within your service region.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to commit to scheduled shifts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor and ability to work in government and public meeting environments.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work occasional extended shifts when meetings run long. Overtime (1.5x) is paid for hours worked over 8 hours in a shift.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Monday through Thursday meetings, occasional Friday productions, and periodic maintenance or system upgrade days.
Compensation
$24 - $28/hour
