Bilingual Insurance Account Operations Specialist
BFL Solutions • Fort Lauderdale, FL, US
Posted 6 hours ago
Bilingual Spanish is required. You will handle client and employee calls in Spanish independently, and that skill is central to the role.
BFL Solutions is an employee benefits brokerage and advisory firm serving employer groups across South Florida and the country for more than 22 years. We are hiring an Insurance Operations Specialist to run day-to-day client service operations.
This is a foundational hire as the firm grows from a solo practice to a small team. You will not be one step in someone else's process. You will oversee group health enrollments, terminations, carrier follow-up, and claims resolution end to end, with real autonomy once you know the book. If you are doing this work inside a large brokerage where you handle one narrow slice, this is your chance to own the whole function.
This is a phone-forward role. The right person is comfortable calling carriers, client HR contacts, and employees all day, and does not consider anything done until it is confirmed in writing.
This position is on-site at our Sunrise office. We work with protected health information and client financial data, and our systems and files are secured here. The role is in-office through your first year, and flexibility can be discussed once you are established and fully licensed.
Compensation is $68,000-$75,000 per year depending on experience. Florida 2-15 licensing costs are paid by the firm.
Please answer the screening questions with your application. We move quickly, and completed applications get a faster response.
Own new hire group health enrollments and weekly terminations end-to-end: verify elections, enter them in carrier portals and Employee Navigator, report COBRA events, and follow up until every carrier confirms in writing
Advocate with carriers on employees' behalf to resolve claims issues, billing errors, denied or missing claims, and EOB requests, tracking each one through to written resolution
Serve as first point of contact for client service requests by phone, email, and portal, and own the follow-up queue so nothing falls through
Build and maintain client groups in Employee Navigator, including plans, rates, and carrier feeds, and keep records accurate across carrier portals and internal trackers
Reconcile carrier invoices monthly and resolve eligibility and billing discrepancies, and run post-enrollment audits comparing payroll censuses against carrier enrollments
Run the recurring service calendar: monthly age change reports, billing reconciliations, and compliance notice distribution including HIPAA and ERISA requirements
Support open enrollment cycles with data entry, census reconciliation, document preparation, and enrollment team coordination, plus general office duties in a small firm
Fluent in Spanish and English, spoken and written, with the confidence to run client and employee calls in Spanish independently
Two or more years in employee benefits, an insurance agency, a carrier, or HR benefits administration strongly preferred
Comfortable making outbound calls without hesitation, and you close loops: a task is not done until the carrier confirms in writing
Strong Excel skills including formulas, sorting and filtering, and cleaning imported data, plus working knowledge of Microsoft 365
Employee Navigator experience strongly preferred. We also use Salesforce, Airtable, and Zoho Desk and will train you on our stack
Willing to obtain the Florida 2-15 Life and Health license within 12 months, with licensing costs paid by the firm
Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to handle confidential information, including PHI, with discretion, and with a reliable daily commute to Sunrise
Compensation
$68,000 - $75,000 DOE
