  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
  • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers
  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
  • Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
  • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
  • Minimum 2 years of substantive paralegal or legal support experience in a law firm setting; litigation experience is strongly preferred.

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is REQUIRED, including professional verbal and written communication with clients.

  • Texas family law experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong experience in civil litigation, personal injury litigation, probate litigation, employment litigation, or other litigation-focused practice areas are encouraged to apply.

  • Must have demonstrated experience drafting and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and proposed orders.

  • Must have experience managing deadlines, calendaring hearings and court dates, organizing case files, e-filing, preparing attorneys for hearings or trial, and following cases through completion.

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong grammar, proofreading, and professional client communication.

  • Must be highly organized and capable of managing multiple active matters and competing deadlines without requiring constant supervision or repeated follow-up.

  • Must demonstrate initiative, ownership, and accountability and be comfortable identifying what needs to be done, following through, and closing the loop with the attorney and team.

  • Must be a collaborative team player who communicates professionally with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other staff and is willing to assist when team priorities require it.

  • Must be receptive to feedback and coaching and able to handle disagreements, changing priorities, and stressful situations professionally and constructively.

  • Must have a positive, solutions-oriented approach to problems and contribute to a respectful and productive workplace environment.

  • Must be comfortable working directly with clients, including clients dealing with stressful, emotional, or high-conflict legal matters.

  • Must be technologically proficient and comfortable learning law-practice-management systems. Experience with MyCase, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and e-filing systems is preferred.

  • Paralegal certificate, associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or professional paralegal certification is preferred but not required when the candidate has substantial relevant law firm experience.
