Join our team at the busy Hilton Charlotte University Place as a Banquet Captain. The hotel banquet captain is the lead front-of-house supervisor responsible for overseeing food and beverage service, staff coordination, and event execution from setup to breakdown.

• Pre-Event Planning: Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to confirm room layouts, seating arrangements, timelines, special dietary requests, and audio-visual needs.

• Team Leadership & Briefing: Conduct pre-shift huddles to assign server stations, communicate VIP details, and review service expectations.

• Kitchen & Bar Coordination: Sync service timing, course drops, and bar pacing with the culinary and bartending teams.

• Floor Supervision: Monitor service flow, food presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the event.

• Guest Relations: Act as the primary on-floor contact for event hosts, handle special requests, and resolve complaints discreetly and quickly.

• Post-Event Breakdown: Oversee room clearing, inventory tracking, equipment storage, and final venue walkthroughs.

• Experience: Typically 2 to 3+ years of progressive food and beverage or banquet service experience, with prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.

• Education: High school diploma required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality, restaurant management, or a related field is often preferred.

• Age & Legal Requirements: Must usually be at least 21 years old to manage or oversee alcohol service.

• Certifications: Current Food Handler’s card, T.I.P.S. (Training for Intervention Procedures), or ServSafe certifications are frequently required.

• Physical & Availability Demands: Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, lift up to 25–50 lbs, and maintain mandatory availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
