We are seeking a driven Associate Litigation Attorney with 3–5 years of civil litigation experience (specifically in plaintiff-side employment law or complex civil litigation) to manage an active, diverse caseload. The ideal candidate is an outstanding legal writer, an assertive advocate in depositions and court hearings, and a strategic thinker eager to drive cases to settlement or trial.

  • Caseload Management: Independently manage a robust litigation docket from pre-litigation demands through trial preparation and resolution.

  • Pleadings & Motion Practice: Draft and argue substantive motions, including Oppositions to Motions for Summary Judgment (MSJ), demurrers, and complex discovery motions.

  • Depositions & Court Appearances: Take and defend depositions (plaintiffs, PMKs, key witnesses) and represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.

  • Discovery Execution: Formulate and respond to written discovery requests, manage electronic discovery (e-Discovery), and handle meet-and-confer efforts.

  • Client & Case Strategy: Maintain regular client communication, evaluate liability and damages, and drive strategic settlement negotiations.

  • Team Supervision: Partner with firm case managers, legal assistants, and paralegals to ensure efficient case progression.

  • License: Active, good-standing member of the California State Bar (Required).

  • Experience: 3–5 years of civil litigation experience, with direct experience in California Employment Law (FEHA, Labor Code, Wage & Hour, PAGA) strongly preferred.

  • Litigation Skills: Proven track record taking/defending depositions, handling contested court hearings, and drafting high-level pleadings/oppositions.

  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with modern case management software, e-filing systems, and legal research tools.

  • Attributes: Exceptional legal research/writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong drive to advocate for workers' rights.

Compensation

$130,000 - $165,000 yearly
