We are hiring a family law associate who wants to do this work well. Someone who can stay steady with a client who is falling apart, without losing the thread on strategy. Someone who understands that a case isn’t about a docket, it’s about someone’s life, children, assets and future.

This is a real caseload from day one, not a training seat. You will:

• Manage your own docket of family law matters: dissolution, parenting time, allocation of parental responsibilities, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and post-decree modifications, from intake through resolution.

• Take on complex, high-asset cases, including matters involving business valuations, complicated property division, and significant marital estates.

• Own the client relationship. You're the attorney they call, and you're the one setting expectations on what happens next, when, what’s required from the client well before deadlines become emergencies, and managing each client’s trust account evergreen requirements.

• Work with a variety of experts, including forensic accountants, business valuators, custody evaluators, and vocational experts, to build a strong case. Handle negotiation, mediation, and courtroom advocacy across the Front Range.

• Draft and review pleadings, motions, and agreements with the precision this work demands.

• Work collaboratively with our attorneys and paralegals, and help build the systems that create a positive client experience each time.

• You have 3+ years of Colorado family law experience, including hearings, mediations and trials, and you can be trusted to run a matter without someone checking your work.

• You are a clear communicator who can explain a messy legal or financial situation to a scared, overwhelmed client in language they actually understand.

• You have real judgment. You know when to fight and when to settle, and you make that call based on what's best for the client, not your ego.

• You take ownership. A file with your name on it gets done right and on time, without anyone having to chase you.

• You work well with others. You collaborate easily with the attorneys, paralegals, and outside experts on a case, and you know good work is rarely a solo effort.

• You want to work in person, with a team, in Lakewood. Not remotely, not occasionally.

• You are admitted to the Colorado Bar and are in good standing.
