Description
The Law Office of Mark McMullin is hiring a full-time Associate Attorney to join our growing estate planning and elder law practice in Cape Girardeau. You'll lead client consultations, draft wills and trusts, and manage your own client files. This is a role with real room to grow — as the firm grows, so does your responsibility. If you've finished law school, are licensed in Missouri or eligible for admission, and want to build something meaningful instead of just filling a seat, we'd like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Lead client consultations and guide families through the estate planning process — wills, revocable and protection trusts, and powers of attorney
- Draft estate planning documents and client correspondence with the precision and care our families expect
- Support probate and trust administration matters alongside senior attorneys
- Conduct legal research on Missouri estate, trust, and elder law questions
- Own your client files start to finish — keep them current and accessible so the whole team can serve the client well
- Build lasting relationships with clients, families, and referral sources in the Southeast Missouri community
Qualifications
- Experience in or genuine interest in estate planning, elder law, probate, or trust administration
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Clear communicator
- Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients
- Candidates must have passed the bar exam
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
Compensation
$81,000 - $81,000/year
