Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation, Personal Injury & Government Affairs
Washington Legal Group
Atlanta Metropolitan Area | Hybrid | Full-Time
About Washington Legal Group
Washington Legal Group is a multi-practice law firm representing clients in personal injury, civil and business litigation, family law, and government affairs. We combine strategic advocacy with responsive, personalized service and take a collaborative, hands-on approach to every matter.
About the Role
Washington Legal Group is seeking an Associate Attorney to support the firm’s civil litigation, personal injury, and government affairs practices.
The Associate will work closely with firm leadership on legal research, written advocacy, case strategy, discovery, negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation. The role includes responsibility for personal injury matters from intake through resolution, as well as civil litigation and government affairs assignments.
This is a hybrid position based in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The successful candidate must be available for in-office work, client meetings, court appearances, and other in-person responsibilities as needed.
We are looking for a relentless and resourceful legal researcher—someone who digs into the facts, the record, and the law until the firm’s position is thoroughly supported and then communicates that position clearly and persuasively.
The right candidate will also be personable, hard-working, organized, and comfortable interacting with clients in high-stakes situations. Our office is direct, collaborative, and high-energy. This position is best suited for an attorney who can keep pace with an active docket, bring structure to demanding matters, and work closely with firm leadership.
Conduct thorough legal research and deliver clear, practical analysis.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, contracts, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Investigate claims, analyze evidence, and identify relevant factual and legal issues.
Assist in developing and executing litigation and negotiation strategies.
Help manage personal injury matters from intake through settlement or litigation.
Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, negotiations, and trials.
Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, opposing counsel, courts, government officials, and other stakeholders.
Maintain organized case files, calendars, deadlines, discovery obligations, and filing requirements.
Collaborate closely with firm leadership and other team members in a fast-moving environment.
Provide occasional support to the firm’s other practice areas when needed.
Relentless, resourceful legal researcher who digs into the facts, the record, and the law until the firm's position is thoroughly supported, then communicates it clearly and persuasively.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to track deadlines, discovery obligations, filing requirements, and multiple active matters simultaneously without anything slipping.
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership (or prompt eligibility) with the State Bar of Georgia.
Strong research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
Strong verbal communication, negotiation, and client-service skills, comfortable in high-stakes client, opposing counsel, and government-official interactions.
Comfortable with a diverse, fast-moving caseload spanning civil litigation, personal injury, and government affairs, including regular in-person court appearances; prior courtroom experience as a prosecutor or defense attorney is a plus.
Sound professional judgment, ethical, client-centered approach, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
Compensation
$90,000 plus bonuses and experience is a factor.
